Monique de la Bruchllerie (April 20. 1915 - decamber 15, 1972) began piano studies with her mother, herself a concert pianist. She entered Isidor Philipp's class at the Paris Conservatoire at 13, graduating with a Premiere Prix at 15. She was subsequently a prize winner in both the Warsaw and the Bruelles Queen Elisabeth competitions. Her concert tours included numerous engagements with the world's leading orchestra's in Europe and America and with such conductors as Herbert von Karajan, Charles Munch, Georg Szell, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Monteux, Sergiu Celibidache, Eugen Jochum, Ernest Ansermet and George Georgescu, and in recitals with violinist Ginette Neveu. From 1959 she was also teaching at the Paris Conservatoire. Her concerts career has ended after a severe car accident in Rumania in 1966.
